altornator

A DC alternator, also known as a DC generator, is a device that converts mechanical energy into direct current (DC) electrical energy. It operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction, similar to an AC generator or alternator. The main components of a DC alternator include a rotor (field coil or permanent magnet), a stator (armature coil), and a commutator. When the rotor is rotated, either by an external power source or by an engine, the magnetic field generated by the rotor induces a voltage in the armature coil of the stator. The commutator, which is a segmented cylindrical structure connected to the armature coil, ensures that the generated voltage is converted into DC by changing the direction of the current flow at specific intervals. Unlike an AC alternator that produces alternating current, a DC alternator generates a steady flow of direct current. This makes it suitable for applications that require DC power, such as automotive electrical systems, battery ...
